Wood II
Wood II expands students’ woodworking abilities through more advanced techniques in measurement, joinery, finishing, and tool usage. Students work with the table saw, chop saw, and intermediate-level power tools while studying aspects of wood science that inform material selection and design. Instruction includes the use of epoxy resins and fillers, as well as more complex layout techniques such as squaring, scribing, and story sticks. Students design and complete a major project that demonstrates accuracy, creativity, and mastery of woodworking skills.
