In this garden community work, students work closely with the instructor and their peers to learn and carry out the day-to-day tasks of the farm, including planting, transplanting, harvesting, and propagating. Students are also introduced to the basic conditions for successful plant growth and the different components of soil. Students bring produce both to the school kitchen to be used in the AP community lunches and to the school’s farmstand to be sold to the local community.
