This introductory course on bike technology introduces students to the work-based opportunities for bicycle repair, business operations for these repairs (sales, merchandising, manufacturing, customer service, inventory control, paper work, sales’ systems, etc). Students learn technical skill development on the repair and maintenance of different makes and models of bicycles. Instructors and experts will expose students to different facets of the cycling industry, including engineering, fabrication, sales, marketing, and more. This course supplies students with basic knowledge of the bicycle machinery (wheels, brakes, gears, and headsets) that will enable the student to successfully repair, communicate repair levels to ongoing customers, and return fully intact bicycles to their owners.
