Theology

In a two-year cycle, which draws heavily on Sacred Scripture and is patterned on the Church’s liturgical calendar, theology class covers such topics as Creation, the Fall, the Prophets (especially Isaiah), the Gospels, etc. Special attention is paid to the many links between the Old and New Testaments. Classes are generally a combination of lecture and discussion, but every so often, an entire class period is given over to a question-and-answer format, with open-ended questions formulated by the students. Topics covered have included: the existence of God, true religion, morality, etc. Students keep a notebook with notes from lectures, reflective drawings inspired by biblical passages, etc.
