The Ancient World: Greece & Rome
Over the course of a semester, students learn about the history of the ancient western Mediterranean, from the rise of Greece to Imperial Rome. In the Ancient Humanities studies, students focus on map work for Greece and Asia Minor, as well as for Italy, Spain, and North Africa. Timeline work forms an important part of the class as well, and becomes the foundation for the events studied in the course. The class culminates with individual research projects, which include research of an ancient Greek or Roman and a presentation to the group in the form of a first-person speech.
