Spanish III

Spanish III guides students into more advanced grammar, vocabulary, and communication skills while maintaining a class environment that is conducted 100% in Spanish, an approach that students are able to understand and follow confidently. In this course, students work with stem-changing verbs, verbs with irregular yo forms, and continue refining pronunciation as their vocabulary expands. They deepen their understanding of estar and its common expressions, learn to form the present participle, and master key verbs such as saber and conocer. The curriculum also introduces indirect object pronouns and strengthens students’ use of the preterite tense of regular verbs. In addition, students study demonstrative adjectives and pronouns, reflexive verbs, and indefinite and negative words, allowing them to express more complex ideas with clarity. Through readings, structured practice, and ongoing conversation in Spanish, students build confidence and fluency while gaining a deeper appreciation of the Spanish-speaking world.
