In this flora and fauna occupations class, students are given a basic overview of plants and animals on campus. For the flora component, students explore and discover the micro bacillus of mushrooms, seed cuttings from mature local plants, propagation, and grafting. For the fauna component, students take time to study local indigenous animals. They examine game camera footage as well as read selections from texts on those animals viewed in the footage, and collect some specimens of those animals studied. This course culminates in final presentations on a particular animal or plant that each student chooses to study more deeply. Students present these final projects to the larger school community at the conclusion of the cycle.
