Advanced Anatomy is offered to the student who has completed Anatomy. Anatomy focuses on the organ systems of the human body, while Advanced Anatomy focuses on the interconnectedness of the organ systems. Special attention is paid to several advanced systems: 1) Cells & DNA (Heredity, Reproduction on Cellular Level (Mitosis/Meiosis), 2) Excretory System, 3) Endocrine System and Hormones, 4) Integumentary System, 5) Immune System, and 6) Nervous System. Students choose to dissect organs associated with each system. Their individual work culminates in student presentations involving written work and visual aids or experiments. Their final projects give an opportunity to go more in-depth into individual topics of interest. Students then present these final projects to the larger school community at the conclusion of the cycle.
