This year-long course begins with a comprehensive review of Algebra I concepts, including solving and graphing linear and quadratic equations. Students also revisit operations with exponents, radicals, and rational expressions. The main focus of the course is the study of a wide range of functions, including absolute value, polynomial, rational, radical, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions. These functions are analyzed both algebraically and graphically to build multiple levels of understanding. Students also study arithmetic and geometric sequences and series, as well as probability and counting methods. Word problem-solving is emphasized throughout to show how mathematics applies to real-life situations.
